Amazing or what?
The Trailblazers still can accomplish something that no other has
done before. The Blazers beat the Dallas Mavericks 103-99 on Wednesday,
a great win. Maurice Cheeks went with the bigger lineup. Davis at Center, Wallace at Power Forward, Randolph at Small Forward, Wells Shooting Guard,
and Stoudamire at Point Guard. The Blazers played great defense, but were down the entire game until the last minute when Wallace made a 3 with 1:05
left. It was then 99-98. And that basically sealed it. Friends, pray that the Blazers can pull out this series, and become the first ever to come from a 3-0 deficit to win the series. The series is 3-2 Dallas. Good playing by Randolph by the way, 22 points and 9 rebounds. If Wallace (who has been struggling lately) is traded next year and we don't get a really good power forward he would be the starter. Pray for the Blazers! Go Blazers!
32-16 at the All-Star Break?
The Portland Trail Blazers Managed to have about a 8-9 record to
have gone to a 32-16 record. That is absolutely amazing! I don't know
what Coach Cheeks does to those Blazers! Even when Wallace was suspended
they did well. They won 5 and lost 2. They were able to go on a 8 game winning streak in December. The last couple games Pippen came alive and
had 25 points, 17 rebounds,6 assists and 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Wallace Isn't in a slump anymore. He came off of his suspension
in style and had back to back 25+ point games. 28 points in one and 29 points in the other. The Blazers were 6.5 games back from the Kings in December, not anymore, that depicit is only a half a game back now! No doubt, the Blazers are back on track!
Wallace and Stoudamire Get Citations.
Rasheed Wallace and Damon Stoudamire were pulled over for going over the speed limit. The policeman who pulled them over and said that they thought that the vehicle smelled like it had marajuana in it.
He told them to step out of the vehicle so he could check for marajuana. He did find marajuana. He found a small amount of marajuana in the car. Rasheed and Damon were both charged, as well as the driver.
Kemp Waived.
Shawn Kemp was waived by the Blazers Tuesday. He was costing much more money than he was worth, so the Blazers waived him goodbye, and he forfeit 25 million dollars in his contract. He had a 7 year contract, worth 107 million dollars! One day the Blazers asked him to sit down and talk over his contract. For some odd reason, Kemp agreed to to forfeit 25 million dollars off his contract. He doesnt even start, and he got 19-27 mllion a year! Now that such a big amount has been cut off of the budget, could Whitsitt sign Wells for a bigger contract??? Will the Blazers get Arvydas Sabonis for 6-8 million on a one year contract?? Stay tuned.
Whitsitt Pulls McInnis Out Of The Cookie Jar.
The Blazers signed Jeff McInnis. After so much talk about getting him, the Blazers finally got him. It's about time they got him. After so much talk, I thought he would come. McInnis averaged
14.6.ppg and 6.2apg. He has pretty good numbers. I know he can do better than Stoudamire. That probably means that Stoudamire is going to leave within the next couple of weeks. We already have 2 other pg's. In my mind, McInnis is better, and will continue to get better. Daniels, still has a ways to go, but he's a youngster, he'll improve. Those two are good for our team. Now we'll have two, big, Point Guards. Stoudamire also is in that Marujana case. That hurts the Blazers. Then they'll have to deal with it because he's part of the Blazers. If Stoudamire leaves, then that won't leave the Blazers with trouble.
Blazers Get Antonio Daniels.
The Blazers were able to get Antonio Daniels on Monday. Antonio Daniels was in a package with Charles Smith and Amar McCaskill. The Spurs traded those players for the Blazers Steve Kerr and Eric Barkley. The Spurs will also get the Blazers draft pick in 2003.
Bob Whitsitt said that he only traded Steve Kerr and Eric Barkley because they would be happy there. Eric Barkley will get more playing time because the Spurs need a Point Guard. Steve Kerr has played for years and would like to end his career in San Antonio, where his family lives. Daniels Averaged 9ppg and 3apg last year, when the Spurs used him as their backup Point Guard. Daniels didn't like playing Point Guard, but it looks like he'll have to play backup PG with the Blazers.
Was Qyntel Woods a good pick?
I think Qyntel Woods was a great pick! I think he could be a backup behind Pippen. He averaged 32ppg,10rpg,and 3 steals per game. That is outstanding for anybody, even an NBA player. When Pippen retires I think Woods will get his spot. When that happens, if he doesnt get traded before that happens he will probably be as good as Tracy Mcgrady by the time Pippen retires. People say he's almost as good as Tracy already. I beleive that. If the blazers trade this guy, they are nuts! By the way people are talking about him, he sounds like a really good forward. He has a lot of what the blazers need. He's a rebounder, a ball handler, and a scorer. He is so good that he may take Pippen's spot at small forward. Although I dont know that the blazers should have him play so early in his basketball career. He is just what the blazers needed though, A good, strong, ball player.
